What can musicians do when they’re quarantined / sheltering in place / socially isolated? They stay close through music. Created solely through word of mouth, 352 participants, including dancers and artists, sent videos from USA, Ireland, France, Venezuela, England, Mexico, Greece, Tanzania, and Canada. The series, which brings together isolated musicians around the world to make music together during the pandemic, has been featured on 60 Minutes and the NBC Today Show, and ranges from the 1812 Overture, complete with makeshift “cannons,” to Rhapsody in Blue, across an animated New York City, for 14 pianos.
